Overlooking the Potomac you walk into a tailored yet comfortable atmosphere with a sophisticated nod to culture along the water. I’d say the cuisine is New and Nostalgic American with a farm fresh emphasis — serving up clam bake entrees, roasted Amish chicken, and Virginia ham toasties. The cuisine is consistent and familiar with just the right somethings added to make it current and special.
We like lunch, brunch, and dinner. We’ve actually never been there early enough for breakfast but have heard they give a discount to locals. We’ve enjoyed Easter luncheon and my birthday dinner there. The menu is diverse so it’s good for satisfying a crowd.
And even though Hummingbird is tucked into the Hotel Indigo they still manage draw the locals and take care of them. And they’ve embraced the tradition of the Lickedy Split Menu at lunchtime!
